Energy Star

According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Department of Energy, the average American home owner spends about $1,900 on energy costs every year.  A change to appliances that have earned the ENERGY STAR rating, and consumers can save an average of $80 a year in energy costs, while saving the environment.

When buying an appliance, there are really two price tags: the take-home price tag and what is paid for the energy and water it uses. ENERGY STAR qualified appliances incorporate advanced technologies that use 10–50% less energy and water than standard models. The money your customers save on utility bills can make your products much more attractive.  For the customer,  choosing ENERGY STAR models are a way to keep saving money for years to come.

Simple actions can make a big difference. If just one in 10 homes used ENERGY STAR qualified appliances, the change would be like planting 1.7 million new acres of trees.
